OBITUARY

Graveside services for Ferne E. Hach, 77, of Dysart were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 21, 1998, at the Clutier Cemetery, rural Clutier, officiated by Pastor Garry Moore. There was no visitation.

Casket bearers were Cary Callahan, Kyle Hach, Don Schellhorn, Rick Fingeroos, Nick Hach, and Kevin Sturtz.

Overton Funeral Home, Dysart, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hach died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Covenant Skilled Care in Waterloo following a short illness of cancer.

Ferne Ellen Hach was born July 13, 1921, at Stuart, IA, the daughter of Harry and Cora (Reighard) Weikert. She received her education at Stuart and then began working in Cedar Falls.

On Aug. 16, 1941, Ferne was united in marriage to Robert Hach at the Methodist Church at Kirksville, MO. She lived with Bob's parents while Bob was in the service and she worked at Chamberlain manufacturing in Waterloo to assist in the war effort.

In 1947 Ferne and Bob began farming south of Dysart where they have lived since that time.

In free moments Ferne enjoyed quilting, sewing pillowcases and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed the outdoors, working on the farm and going fishing.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Harry Jr. and Leo and one sister, Maxine.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Sr; two sons and their wives, Robert Jr and Diane Hach of Dysart and Richard and Angie Hach of La Porte City; three brothers, Roy and Richard Weikert of Cedar Falls and Vernon Weikert of Des Moines; one sister, Florence Eddy of Dysart and three grandchildren.
