OBITUARY

Funeral services for Cynthia Kaye Forbes, 44, of Traer, were held Saturday afternoon, March 31, at the Traer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marshall Monthei officiating. burial was at Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer.

Cindy died of cancer at her home in Traer Thursday, March 29, 2001.

Special music for the service was provided by Joleen Edwards, organist and Mark Keefer, vocalist.

Casket bearers were Matt McKinney, Ryan McKinney, Rob Forbes, Larry Vest, Jo Walters and Jo Youngblut. Floral tributes were handled by Jean Vest, Jill Ewing and Cindy Bandfield.

Cindy was born Sept. 26, 1956, at Waterloo, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy Mae (Stueben) McKinney. She was raised in rural Traer, attended Dinsdale School and graduataed from NorthTama High School in the Class of 1974. Cindy continued her education at Hawkeye Tech where she received an Associate Degree in Photography in 1976.

She worked for a time at the Traer Star-Clipper and American Professional Color in the photography field. For nearly five years Cindy worked at Home Depot in Waterloo.

In free moments she enjoyed photography gardening, baking and spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Samuel McKinney.

Cindy is survived by her mother, Mae McKinney, Traer; a son, Jacob Forbes with the US Navy in Brunswick, ME; a daughter, Jenna Forbes, Traer; one brother, Mike McKinney and one sister, Patty McKinney, both of Traer.
