OBITUARY

Funeral services for LaVina K. Ewoldt, 86, of Dysart were held Tuesday morning, Oct. 31, 2000 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart officiated by Pastor Karen Cluts. Burial followed in Oneida Cemetery, rural Clutier.

LaVina died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000 at Sunrise Hill Care and Rehab Center in Traer.

Music for the service was provided by Carol Lorenzen, organist. Casket bearers were Loren Ewoldt, Royce Ewoldt, Dan Ewoldt, Barry Ewoldt, Tim Ewoldt, Terry Ewoldt and Mark Ewoldt. Flowers were handled by Holly Ewoldt. Cheryl Ewoldt and Sue Ewoldt.

LaVina Ewoldt was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Clark township in Tama County, IA, the daughter of John and Dora (Heckt) Jacobsen. She graduated from Traer High School.

On Feb. 22, 1933, she was united in marriage to Erwin Ewoldt at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

LaVina and Erwin made their home farming south of Traer all their married lives until moving to Dysart in 1973.

Following Erwin's death in 1989 she continued to live at her home at 301 Tilford Street.

LaVina was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. In free moments she enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Erwin; two brothers, Harold in 1919 and Roy in 2000; and a sister, Mildred Ewoldt in 1995.

LaVina is survived by three sisters-in-law, Lucille Jacobsen of Voorhies, Leola Dunlap of Ackley and Lois Ewoldt of Traer as well as nieces and nephews.

Overton Funeral Home-Dysart was in charge of arrangements.
