Agnes K. Dvorak was born November 2, 1890, in Carroll Township, the daughter of Vincent and Marie [Kratoska] Petra. Agnes attended a country school and Practical Nurses Training. On December 26, 1911, she married Joseph Dvorak and to this marriage their daughter Irene was born.

Joseph’s death came in 1944 and Agnes continued to do practical nursing, which included a long time employment with St. Luke’s Hospital at Cedar Rapids.

Agnes retired to Traer in later life and in recent years was a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center. Where her death came on Monday, October 5, 1992, at the age of 101 years.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Irene Knilans of New Port Richey, Florida; two granddaughters, Patricia Eliason and Judith Knilans and four great-grandchildren.
