Warren Richard Aldrich

October 21, 1920 to June 21, 2002

Interment, Garwin Cemetery, Garwin, Iowa, Overton Funeral Home, Garwin, Iowa.

Warren Richard Aldrich was born on a farm near Garwin, Iowa, the son of James Edwin "Ed" and Bertha (Lohberger)Aldrich. He received his education in country school close to his home through the 8th grade when he then began farming with his father. On December 30, 1943,he was united in marriage to Dorothy Murty at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garwin. Warren and Dorothy made their home all their married life on a farm that was located 1 mile from his birthplace. Warren retired from farming about 1983 but continued to make his home on the farm. For the past 30 years Warren and Dorothy spent their winters in Me Allen, Texas but due to ill health they remained at home during the past 2 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Anita Mines and Viola Murty. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy of rural Garwin, a daughter Margaret (Bernie) Hala of Marshalltown and a son Charles (Marilyn) Aldrich of Beaman, 6 grandchildren, Lane Hala of Gaithers, MD, Brandi Zganjer of Daytona Beach, FL, Chad Aldrich of Wichita, KS, Dawn Aldrich of Conrad, IA, Shane (Julie) Aldrich of USAF stationed in the Azores, Jeremy Aldrich of Beaman, 3 great grandchildren, Tyler, Jason and Ethan. 2 brothers, Lawrence (Marjorie) Aldrich of Marshalltown and Berdell (Frances) Aldrich of Garwin, 5 sisters, Lillian Curphy of Marshalltown, Eva Greany of Grundy Center, Mildred (Dale) Mathern of Mayer, AZ, Bernice (Virgil) Abels of Grundy Center and Mary Alice Hatton of Waterloo, also surviving are many nieces and nephews
