Berry Rites Held Tuesday
Marengo Business Firms Close for Funeral Hour

Marengo- Funeral services for Fed G. Berry were held at the Methodist Episcopal church Tuesday at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Thomas Osborn officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
The Commercial club of Margeno asked all business houses to close during the hour of the funeral services as a tribute to Mr. Berry, who has been an active member of the following organizations; Commercial club, Rotary club, Masonic Ordder, Knights of Pythias, Boy Scouts, Methodist Episcopal church and as a Shriner at Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Berry died Sunday afternoon as the result of a bullet wound inflicted by John McElroy. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Godon Berry and was born at Gladbrook, Iowa February 18, 1893. On November 24, 1915 he was united in marriage to Grace Nadine Strohm at Gladbrook.
Mr. Berry is survived by his widow, four chilren, Clifford, 14, Dean, 11, Ketih, 9 and Barbara Jean, 4, five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Nickerson and Mrs. Mabel Webster both of Des Moines, Mrs. Addie Howard of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Myrtle Buckels, of Boone, Mrs. Floy Wright of Los Angeles, Calif, and two brothers Charles of Independence and Ralph of Hutchison, Minn.
Mr. Berry has been residing in Marengo for the last three years during which time he has been manager of the Iowa Electric company.
