Entered Army: July 24, 1918, Inf.

Training in US: Camp Gordon, GA

Left for Overseas: Hoboken, NJ on Aug. 1918 and arrived Brest, France, Sept. 1918. Assigned 1st Div., 18th Inf. Co. I. Sent to Hqs. on detached service with Stokes Mortar Hqs. Co.

Engagements: In the beginning of the siege on Sedan; under 72 hoursŐ barrage in Argonne Forest.

Wounded: Gassed at Sedan

Hospitalized Overseas: Base Hospital 58, Remaucourt, France, evening of Nov. 11, 1918, until Christmas time. Flu soon after landing in France, and pneumonia after being gassed.

Medals-Ribbons: Citation for gallantry, especially meritorious services, and being wounded in action.

Returned to US: from Brest, France

Discharged: Camp Dodge, IA, Apr 22, 1919. Rating: Pvt.

Months in Service: In US, 1; overseas, 8
