Pierce, Palmer Eddy
(Brigadier General)Born Oct 23, 1865 at Savanna, IL.
Son of Henry Clay and Laura Schard Pierce.
At age of 20 was appointed cadet to West Point Military Academy from Fifth Congressional District; graduated as Second Lieutenant in 1891. Served in Philippine War in 1898; in Puerto Rico in 1898. Assigned to General Staff of Infantry at Washington, DC. Although exempt on account of having served his country for 30 years prior to the World War, he volunteered and was promoted to Brigadier General of 27th Regular and 54th national Infantry and Artillery.
Served at front in France with this body.
