Entered Ft. Snelling; transferred to Camp Dodge, Camp Mineola; first entered 165th NY Reg.; transferred to Co. C, 167th Inf., 42nd Div.

In France Nov 21, 1917; member of Co. C, 167th Inf., 42nd Div.

In battles of Champagne, Chateau Theirry, Ouieq Leringes, Villus-Sur Fue, Sergy, Toul, St. Mihiel.

The 167th Inf. was cited for bravery.

Commissioned at Ft. Snelling, Aug 15, 1917.

Second Lieutenant; promoted Jan 30, 1919.
