Enlisted Jun 25, 1917 at Cedar Rapids, IA; entered service at Sabula, IA; transferred to Camp Dodge, Camp Cody and Camp Dix; first entered Co. D, 133rd Iowa National Guard.

In France Oct 2; member Co. D, 133rd Inf., 34th Div.; wounded Oct 7 by machine gun bullet in left leg.

Corporal.
