Born Dec 13, 1896 at Chelsea, IA.

Son of Richard D. and Annetta Pease.

Enlisted Jan 28, 1918, at Toledo; entered Fort Leavenworth; transferred to Camp Stanley,, Camp Merritt; first entered Co. C, 9th Field Bn., Signal Corps.

In France May 13, 1918, in battles of St. Mihiel and Argonne; was gassed Oct 20, 1918.

Mustered out Feb 14, 1919 from Co. 7, 163rd Depot Brigade.

Corporal.
