Born Aug 6, 1892 at Gladbrook, IA.

Son of Fredrick T. and Fredericka Lage.

Entered service Feb 25, 1918; entered Camp Dodge; transferred to Camp Mills; entered Co. A, 338th M.G. Bn.

In England May 16, 1918; member of Co. D, 139th Inf., 35th Div; took part in battle of Argonne; lungs, leg, arm and hand severely wounded by shrapnel.
