KELLER, Charles Frederick

Born Aug 29, 1892 in Marshall County, IA.

Son of William and Lizzie Keller.

Enlisted April 14, 1917 at Des Moines, IA.

Entered Ft. Logan; transferred to Camp Cotton, Expansion Camp; first entered Co. I, 23rd Inf.

Mustered out June 12, 1919 from Camp Dodge, Machine Gun Co., 141st Inf.

In France Sep 21, 1917; member of Co. I, 23rd Inf., 2nd Div.; in battles of Verdun, Chateau Theirry, Toul Sector, St. Mihiel, Argonne-Meuse and Champagne. Wounded in right leg by machine gun bullet at the battle of Chateau Thierry; wounded again at Blanc Mont Ridge. Co. I, 23rd Inf., mentioned for bravery at the battle of Chateau Thierry.

Corporal.
