Born Nov 22, 1895, in Tama County, Iowa.

Son of Soloman H. and Ellen Ferneau.

Enlisted Feb. 25, 1918 at Camp Dodge.

Entered Camp Dodge; transferred to Camp Logan, and Camp Upton; first entered Co. B, 130th Inf.

In France May 24; member of Co. B, 130th Reg., 33rd Div.; took part in the battle of Argonne Forest and Verdun; and was gassed and eyes and lungs affected.

Mustered out April 2, 1919, from Co. B, 130th Inf.
