Son of Chest and Lela Ellis.

Enlisted April 18, 1917 at Marshalltown, IA.

Entered Jefferson Barracks; transferred to Camp Meigs. Camp Meade, and Camp Lee; first entered Mobile Laundry Unit 331.

Mustered out May 15, 1919 from Mobile Laundry Unit 331.
