CRONK, Harold Nelson

Born July 23, 1891, at Montour, Iowa.

Son of Edward G. and Myrtle L. Cronk.

Enlisted June 15, 1917, at Des Moines.

Entered Naval Camp at Newport, R.I.; transferred to Commonwealth Pier Aug 7; Camp Hingham, Aug 15.

In France, Oct 15, 1917. Served on Destroyer No. 42, which captured several submarines.

Promoted from 3rd class fireman to water tender.
