Son of Oliver H. and Ida M. Chitty.

Enlisted May 11, 1917 at Cedar Rapids

Entered Jefferson Bks.; transferred to El Paso.

Mustered out Sep 25, 1919.

In France June 25, 1917; member Hdq. Co., 16th Inf. 1st Div. In battles of Bathlemont Raid, Pambucourt Sector, Broyes Sector, Cantigny, and Soissons.
Sergeant.
