Son of J. R. and A. F. Avery.

Enlisted Aug 28, 1917 at Fort Snelling.

Entered Reserve OfficersÕ Training Camp; transferred to Camp Greenleaf and Camp Sheridan; first entered Battery 3, R.O.T.C.

Mustered out Dec 7, 1918 from Veterinary Field Unit 3, 9th Div. Commissioned at Fort Snelling.
