Born March 14, 1896 in Tama County, IA; son of John and Emma Kubik. Enlisted May 27, 1918, at Toledo, IA; entered Camp Dodge; transferred to Camp Upton and Camp Mills; first entered Co. C, 349th Inf. Mustered out June 11, 1919, from Co. C, 349th Inf. In France Aug 16, 1918. Was in the battle of Alsace Center Sector. 88th Div. mentioned for bravery.
