S. W. Denniston Passed Away

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TUESDAY AT MAXWELL

S. W. Denniston, 78, pioneer resident of this part of the county, died Sunday morning at 3:00 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. P. Hays, five miles south of Collins.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Church of Christ, Maxwell, and interment was in the Maxwell cemetery, by the side of his wife, who died September 28, 1918. The services were in charge of Rev. DeLoss Marken of Des Moines, assisted by the Rev. C. L. Duxbury of Maxwell.

Mr. Denniston was born in Dark county, Ohio, December 30, 1852. He came to Iowa when a young man and lived in the vicinity of Maxwell and Collins. He was married to Miss Nellie Hall at Maxwell, March 13, 1888. They located first on a farm 1 1/2 miles west of Collins. After living there for a number of years they moved into Maxwell, where they lived for a time and then moved back onto the farm.

Four daughters were born to the union and survive the parents. They are Mrs. W.P. Hay of near Collins, Mrs. John Edwards of Omaha, Mrs. Cleve Dodd of near Fernald and Mrs. Leo Anderson of Wyocena, Wis.

Besides these four daughters he leaves six grandchildren and other relatives, in addition to a wide circle of friends.
