Arnold L. Haugland, 92, of Story City, died January 11, 2006 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were January 14, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

He was born September 24, 1913 in Story City to Rangvold and Anna (Sampson) Haugland. He married Alice Mae Thompson on December 16, 1936. She died November 16, 1991.

He is survived by four daughters, Patricia Cirksena (Donald) of Des Moines, Margaret Tjaden of Urbandale, Cynthia Williamson of Nevada and Kathleen Tichenor (Dennis) of Nevada; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Buck, 3 sisters and a brother.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
