THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, January 4, 2006.

Mary Arletta Edwards, 69, of Ames, died Jan. 3, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 6, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames with the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Cumberland.

Mary Edwards was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Harrisburg, Pa., to parents Dnaiel and Mary (Fessler) Kemberling. She has resided in Ames since 1961, but she also lived in Massena, Cumberland and Jefferson. She worked as a bank teller. She married Gary Edwards June 16, 1956.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, of Ames; two daughters, Tammy (Stan) Hyer of Ames and Tina (Mark) McCann of Ames; her caregiver, companion and longtime family friend, Gayle Breed of Ames; two grandchildren, Adam (Brianne) Hyer and Thomas McCann; and three great-grandchildren, Zakery, Brooklynn, and Brayden Hyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Mark Allen Edwards.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for Rolling Green Village in Nevada.
