THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 22, 2005.

Kristi (McConnell) Van Pelt, 26, of North Liberty and formerly of Ames, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, near Brooklyn. Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Kristi McConnell was born April 4, 1979, in Ames to Gary and Peggy (Barr) McConnell. She was a 1997 graduate of Ames High and a 2001 graduate of Iowa State University. She worked as a CPA at McGladrey and Pullen in Cedar Rapids.

She married Tim Van Pelt Aug. 3, 2002, in Ames. She was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church. She lived life to the fullest and cherished her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Van Pelt of North Liberty; her parents, Gary and Peggy McConnell of Ames; one sister, Stacey (Adam) Crutchley of Morton, Ill.; one brother, Patrick McConnell of Ames; grandparents, Jim and Mary Phyl Barr of Ames, John and Audrey McConnell of Grand Junction, Colo.; great grandmother, Nellie Mendenhall of Grand Junction, Colo.; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Kathy Van Pelt of Grand Junction.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
