THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 13, 2005.
Henry Virgil Larson, 88, of Nevada died on Sunday, Dec. 11, at Story County Long Term Care. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Burling officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Henry was born on April 22, 1917, in Nevada to Frederick K. and Emma C. (Hoskins) Larson. He was a World War II veteran. He married Gwendolyn G. Mayo May 28, 1938, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. He was a brick layer and farmer. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post No. 48 in Nevada.
He is survived by one son, Charles (Mary) Larson of Ames; two daughters, Mary Kay Larson of Austin, Texas, and Anne (Carl) Gray of Colo; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Fosseen of Radcliffe and Myrtle Hankins of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife on Aug. 18, 1999.
Visitation will be today with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
