Marie Laura Johnson
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Laura Johnson were held at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley on Tuesday Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Marvin Nygaard officiated at the services. Soloist was Mrs. Richard Sydnes. She sang "Under His Wing" and "Behold a Host." She was accompanied by Mrs. Jacob Lee.
Pallbearers were James Polsdofer, Larry Lightbody, Duane Mabb, Clifford Johnson, Roger Schonemann, Marvin Schonemann.
Interment was in the Fjeldberg Cemetery, Huxley.
Mrs. Johnson was born August 2, 1887 at Thornton, daughter of Hans and Elsie [sic] Marie Schonemann. On January 15, 1908, she was married to Albert Johnson of Latimer. They moved to Huxley from Latimer in 1912.
She was a faithful member of the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church where she had been active in the women's organization and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Mrs. Johnson lived the last ten years at Ames where she died on Saturday, Sept. 21.
She is survived by three daughters; Veola of Ames with whom she had recently resided; Eleanor Tobie of Bethesda, Maryland; and Dorothy Rasmussen of Bloomfield, two grandchildren, Anita and David Rasmussen; three sisters, Henrietta James and Sena Schonemann of Thornton, Elisa Troglaur of Story City; two brothers, William Schonemann of Thornton and Henry Schoneman of Clear Lake.
She preceded by death by her husband in 1964 and by two grandchildren.
