TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 6, 2005.

George Lourens, 83, of Cambridge, died Nov. 26, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will take place today, Thursday, Dec. 1, at 1:30 p.m., at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge. Burial will be at Cambridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Nazareth Lutheran Church.

George was born June 16, 1922. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed his garden and sharing his fruits and vegetables. He was especially proud of his apple and pear trees. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Immediate survivors include his wife, Lillian; a son, Alan Lourens; two daughters, Cindi (Denny) Wheeler and Barb Lourens; grandchildren, Lincoln and Spencer Lourens, Justin (Jennifer) Wheeler, Anna (Jake) Barnoski, Joshua and Kristina Smith; and a great-grandson, Wyatt James Barnoski.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dick Lourens.
