Maxine Jane Manley

Maxine Jane Manley, 97, of Osage Beach, Mo., formerly of Nevada, Iowa passed peacefully, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. Following Maxine's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date beside her loving husband, Carl, in Nevada, Iowa.

Maxine, fondly known as Maxie, was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She and her husband, Carl, moved to Nevada in 1945, residing there until 1978 when they retired to Osage Beach.

Maxie always had a smile on her face, was a fabulous cook and was an all-around foxy, fun lady, even in her 90's. She was a class act and will be dearly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Jayne Heint, Osage Beach and son, David (Diana) Manley, Phoenix, AZ. Granddaughters Vicki (Mike) Shaw, Davenport, IA, Denise (Jim) Mathisen, Springfield, MO., Rhonda (Brian) Sykes, Nevada, IA., and grandsons Brett (Terri) Heintz, Springfield, MO, and Zach Manley, Phoenix, AZ. Survivors also include 12 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren, from whom she derived much pleasure.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl and her son-in-law Ronald Heintz.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Maxine Jane Atkinson was born 7 July 1916 to Oren Atkinson and Mabel Graves. Oren and Mabel divorced and Mabel remarried to Charles J. Crawford on 17 June 1925. Maxine apparently took her stepfather's name some records refer to her as Maxine Crawford.
