Alma Marie Car-Skaden
June 23, 1937, to April 26, 1994

Alma Marie Car-Skaden, 56, of Zearing, died of cancer at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

She was born to Marion W. and Annabel (Hemm) Ruby in Storm Lake. She was a longtime resident of Story County and worked as a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Dixie Lee Gage of Radcliffe and Sheryl Ann Car-Skaden of Zearing; her son, Robert D. Thomas of McCallsburg; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Gamedinger of Perry and Beverly Hill of Ames; and her brother, Robert Ruby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her grandson, Jeff Thomas.

Visitation will be held today from 1-8 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Pastor Penny Hansel officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
