Funeral Services For Cordelia Baker Held Sat., Mar 23

Cordelia Alice Baker was born April 19, 1883, at Maxwell. She succumbed March 20, 1963, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Mrs. Baker was the daughter of David and Elizabeth Davis.

Dec. 24, 1901, she was married to Nara Baker in Story County.

To this union were born four children: Esther Ruth (Mrs. Robert Taylor), Palmdale, Calif.; Beulah Belle at home, William Harold, and Margaret Elizabeth (Mrs. Lester Brooks) both of Nevada. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Dorrell Max Taylor, Palmdale, Connie Jo Baker, and Gary Lee Brooks, both of Nevada; two great grandchildren, Stephen Craig Taylor and Suzanne Taylor, Palmdale and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Whitney, Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband in 1947, her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Etta Evans and Mrs. Mary Rupp, both of Maxwell; and two brothers, Roy Davis, Maxwell and Will Davis, Yucaipa, Calif.

Friends and relatives attending the funeral from out of town were from: Jamestown, N. D.; Palmdale, Calif.; Iowa City, Ames, Boone, Maxwell, Cambridge, Huxley, Slater, Story City, Colo and Iowa Falls.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Cordelia Alice Baker were held at the Nevada E.U.B. Church Saturday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Robert Link officiating.

Howard Peterson sang two numbers, "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Miss Beeula Settle at the organ.

The many floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. Leota Collins and Mrs. Flossie Torry.

Casket bearers were Harvey Collins, Richard Collins, Ray Hostetler, William Shickell, George Taylor and Delmar Toot.

Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
