Mary Alice Teig
Mary Alice Teig, 91, formerly of Ames, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1989 of congestive heart failure at Bethany Manor Nursing Home, Story City. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 5, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Ames. Burial was in Center Cemetery, Story City.
Mary Heers was born in Story City to Frank and Jennie (Miller) Heers. On Sept. 28, 1920 she married Mandus P. Teig in Story City. She was a health aide, homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Ames.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne of Webster City, Forrest of Atlantic, and Roger of Salinas, Calif.; three daughters, Pat Maier of Bellevue, Wash., Virginia Fenton of Marshalltown, and Barbara Adams of Ames; one brother, Ray of Owatonna, Minn.; one sister, Mabel of Yankton, S.D.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Richard; two brothers, Walter and Harry; and two sisters, Laura and Ethel.
Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church; Bethany Manor Nursing Home, Story City; or Ames Public Library.
