HENRY JOHANNAS TOFT
Henry Johannas Toft, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Toft, was born Dec. 7, 1902, on a farm 1 1/2 miles northwest of Story City. At the age of 45 years, 3 months and 3 days, he passed away March 10, 1948, at the Cherokee hospital.
Henry spent most of his life on farms in the vicinity of Story City. He was baptized in the Christian faith by Rev. Heimarck, Dec. 25, 1902. He was also confirmed by Rev. Heimarck in 1917.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his father, Henry Toft of Story City; a sister, Mrs. Anna Eide of Belmond; and five brothers, John and Gerhard of Radcliffe, Iver of Clear Lake, Ben of Hadley, Minn., and Tom of Belmond; besides a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, two sisters and two brothers.
Henry was a loveable and friendly person to all. His suffering days are all over, and he is now at rest.
Funeral service was held at the Henderson funeral home, March 13, with Rev. Heimarck officiating. LeRoy Hill sang two songs "Rock of Ages" and "Heaven is My Home," accompanied by Louise Olson. The pallbearers were Arthur Jacobson, James Jackson, Willie Egemo, Helge Johnson, Mike Boe and Hans Gertsen.
