Elizabeth Stensland
Elizabeth Cora Stensland, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 1990, of a stroke, at Woodville, Wisconsin. She had been a resident of Park View Nursing Home at St. Croix, Wisconsin since December to 1984.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. John Wogland officiating. Burial was at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Organist was Mrs. Frederick Larson and vocalists were Mrs. Homer Olson and Mrs. Ray Romsey.
Pallbearers were Duane Stensland, Mike Vezner, Robert Urman, Cary Stewart, Dan Dana and Steve Zigan.
Elizabeth was born Feb. 15, 1906 in Eagle Grove to Lars and Bertha (Gunderson) Egesdal. On June 24, 1929 she married Bert Stensland. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1973.
She grew up in Eagle Grove and resided in the Randall-Story City area until 1984. She served as the Bethel Lutheran Church organist for many years and as a nurse and at Bethany Manor in Story City.
Survivors include a son Carroll of Stillwater, Minnesota; a sister, Ruth Edwards of Bemidji, Minnesota; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
