FORMER RESIDENT DIED AT UDELL
Mrs. Amos J. Spring passed away at her home at Udell last Saturday noon. The remains were brought here for burial in Fairview cemetery Tuesday, after funeral services in Udell on Monday.
Margaret Boyd Spring was born at Ames, Iowa, March 31, 1871, and departed this life Oct. 28, 1929, at the age of 68 years, six months and 27 days. She was the daughter of Henry R. Boyd and Addie Boyd.
On June 9, 1895, she was united in marriage to Amos J. Spring and to this union were born two sons, Harold Spring of Udell and Willie E. Spring of Big Rock, Ill., who survive her. She is also survived by her husband, Amos J. Spring, and three grandchildren, Lionel, Margaret and Alvin. Also a sister, Sarah Hanna of Portland, Ore., besides other relatives and a host of friends who remain to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Spring moved to Udell with her family from Story county in March, 1914, and resided there until her death, which resulted from a weakened condition of the heart.
At the age of 18 she became a Christian and united with the Grace Evangelical church at Story City. She remained true to the faith to the end and always exemplified the unselfish spirit of Christ in her life, namely, that of always thinking of others before herself.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, beloved of all who knew her. Her home was a Christian home and she brought up her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
