Sverdrup H. Sansgaard

Sverdrup H. Sansgaard, 84, Story City, Iowa died Tuesday, September 20, 1977 at the Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames.

He was born August 31, 1893 in Clear Lake (Hamilton County) to parents, John and Jeanette (Hustoft) Sansgaard. On April 27, 1916 he was married to Della Hovde. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clear Lake Ellsworth Lutheran Church. Sansgaard was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were held from St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, Saturday, September 24. The Rev. Olaf Holen, Ames, was in charge. Eva Jacobson was organist and accompanied Mrs. Robert Hermanson, soloist. Pallbearers were Ivan Sansgaard, Truman West, Alfred West, Sterling Lund, LaVerne Sansgaard and Reuben Sansgaard. Burial was at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Della; one son, Arnold of Story City; one daughter, Arlene Hall of Charles City, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, five sisters and one son, Robert.
