Cornett M. Olson

Cornett M. Olson, 84, of Stratford Care Center, formerly of Story City died Thursday, July 24, 1997 of Septicemia. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with Rev. Tom Hunt and Rev. Stephen Anenson officiating. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

Cornett M. Boe was born April 7, 1913 in Rosendale, in Hamilton County, Iowa to Ole and Nellie (Jacobson) Boe. She married Emery Olson in 1936. In 1945, they moved from Rosendale to Story City. She retired from Bourn's Manufacturing in Ames. She was active with the Quilters at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member.

Immediate survivors include two daughters, Elaine Olson of rural Story City, and Mary Rozella Smith of El Paso, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mildred Boe of Jewell; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Orris, Clifford and Roy Boe; one sister-in-law, Martha Boe and a son-in-law, Richard Olson.

Attend funeral

Attending the July 28 funeral of Cornette Boe Olson from out of the Story City area were her daughter Mary Rozella Smith and husband George of El Paso, Texas, arriving the morning Cornette passed away; her granddaughter, Ronda Sizemore and husband Roland from Hudson, Florida, who had been to see their grandmother this past June; her grandsons, Ray John Smith of Belen, New Mexico, and Hunter Lee Smith of Los Lunas, New Mexico; and her nieces Nadine Kelly of Ames and Kathy Elder of Clarion, Iowa.

She is also survived by her granddaughter, Shelly Wilson of Bamburg, Germany, where husband Bryan is stationed; and several other grandchildren.

Cornette was also preceded in death by her only nephew, VirGene Boe.
