Irvin Lund

Irvin O. Lund, 90, rural Jewell, died Tuesday, Aug.27, at Bethany Manor Nursing Home, Story City, where he had been a resident for the past nine years. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. Lloyd Weiland, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. A service was held at 10 a.m. at Bethany Manor Chapel. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Irvin Lund was born Nov. 2, 1894, in Story City, to Iver and Julia (Mathre) Lund. On Sept. 27, 1922, he married Josie L. Thompson. He farmed in Hamilton County until 1965. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Jewell.

Survivors include a daughter, June Cahoe, Waterloo; four grandchildren; and a sister, Amanda Scott, Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie, Oct. 20, 1967; two brothers and an infant son.

Memorials may be given to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church building fund.
