MRS. ERICK HOLLAND

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Martha (Erick) Holland on Thursday, June 2, at 1:30 in the home and at 2:00 in the Bethel Lutheran church. The Rev. A. J. Bringle officiated and sang "Tank naar engang den tagge, er for suvingen." At the church, Kenneth Bickelhaupt sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer"; Mrs. John Heggen and Mrs. Bert Stensland sang "Paaden Skjoenne gyldne strand." The casket bearers were Roy, Peder and Arnold Frtte, Porter Quam, Ransom Holland, and Leonard Auestad.

Obituary

Martha Holland, daughter of Peder and Anna Frette, was born in Hamilton county, Oct. 8, 1872 and died May 30, 1955 at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 22 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Since moving to Story City, she was a member of the Bethel Lutheran church.

Oct. 7, 1903 she was united in marriage to Erick Holland, at which time they moved to a farm west of Randall and lived there until 1921 when they moved to Story City, where she has since resided.

She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on May 14, 1948. She was also preceded in death by one sister who died in infancy, and four brothers, Samuel, Ole, Rasmus and Edward.

Mrs. Holland had been in poor health the past five years and was bedridden five weeks at her home and six weeks at Story City Memorial hospital. She leaves to mourn her death, three sisters: Mrs. Regina Pederson, Mrs. Julia Townswick and Mrs. Peder (Sarah) Quam, all of Story City, and many nieces and nephews.
