OLGA K. ALSAGER
Funeral services for Mrs. Olga K. Alsager were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 1974, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, with Rev. C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Mrs. Alsager died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Donald Teggatz), at Homestead, Iowa on Wednesday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m.
Olga Karoline Marie Blomdahl Alsager was born on July 8, 1900 in Bergen, Norway and lived to be 73 years, 10 months, 21 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Bergen. Olga came to the United States in 1914 for a short time and then later moved to Iowa.
October 6, 1920 she was united in marriage to Lewis Alsager, at Planketon, South Dakota. To this union, seven children were born: two sons, Lloyd of Story City, Jennings of Winterset, five daughters, Delores Reinberger of Ames, Alice Peterson of Merriam, Kansas, Edith Davis, Ellsworth A.F.B., South Dakota, Carole Boren of Mt. Vernon and Shirley Teggatz of Homestead.
Mrs. Alsager is survived by her seven children, twenty-three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, one grandson, Dennis Alsager, her parents, one brother and two sisters.
The soloist, Mrs. Ben Anderson, sang two of her favorite hymns accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Harold Olson.
Pallbearers were her four grandsons, Jerry Alsager, Loren Alsager, Mickey Alsager and Terry Boren, and two nephews, John Engebretsen of Marshall, Minnesota and Orlin Stark of Stanhope.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery with the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
