PASSING OF FORMER STORY CITY MAN
Andrew P. Anderson Died in Marshalltown Last Sunday at Advanced Age.
Andrew P. Anderson, 87, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at the St. Thomas Mercy hospital in Marshalltown. He had been living with his daughter, Mrs. A. Bova at that place for the last year. He had been ill with pneumonia since Wednesday.
Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 7, 1851, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and came to America in 1887. On Nov. 18, 1887 he married Anna K. Johnson in Story county, and she died in 1888. He married Senie Lund here on March 22, 1892.
He was employed for 10 years in the creamery at Nevada, and moved on a farm near Story City, where he lived 19 years. In 1910 he moved to a farm near Marshalltown, where he lived until his age forced his retirement a year ago. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Marshalltown.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Emma Paulson of Story City and Mrs. Bova; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Nelson of Keosauqua and Mrs. Hans Rasmussen of Marshalltown; and two brothers, Nels Anderson of Jamestown, N. D., and Peter Anderson of Philadelphia, Pa. One son died in infancy and another was killed in the World war. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild survive.
The body remained at the at the Wagner mortuary, where services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a prayer service at 2 p.m. at the Henderson funeral home at Story City. Burial was made at the Center cemetery southwest of town.
