THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, November 1, 2005.

Helen Arlene Blesie, 91, of Nevada, died Saturday, Oct. 29, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.

Helen was born May 26, 1914, in Garden City, the daughter of Henry and Anna Anderson Iverson. Helen married Herman C. Sorensen in 1940. Herman died in 1979. She married Dudley Blesie in 1983. Dudley died in 1992. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and have 3 o'clock coffee. She enjoyed her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Janet and John Schneider of Woodridge, Ill.; two grandsons: Steve and Kristin Schneider of Aurora, Ill., and their children, Alec Schneider, Brendan Schneider, Conor Schneider, Nick Niemi and Alexandra Niemi; and Mark Schneider of Woodridge, Ill. She is also survived by her stepdaughter and stepson in law, Willa and David Holger of Ames; and two step granddaughters: Elsbeth Holger of Minneapolis and Katherine Holger of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Burling officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
