Obituary of Mrs. C. M. Johnson
The following article was taken from a Madison, S. D., newspaper:
Mrs. C. M. (Elizabeth Anna) Johnson, 75, died at 5 o'clock Monday morning, May 14, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Furman. Death was attributed to a tumor, ending a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born February 18, 1859 and Hedrick, Ia. As a girl she moved with her parents to Story county, Iowa, where she was married in March, 1883, to Calvin M. Johnson. Mr. Johnson died November 12, 1825.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. Furman, Mrs. I. A. McGrath of Cavour, Benjamin of Omaha, Waldo of Rochester. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and three brothers: Ira and John Hollingsworth, both of Hedrick, Iowa and Blunt Hollingsworth of Mt. Pleasant, Ia.
Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon in the First Baptist church, of which Mrs. Johnson was a member.
