Obituary
Orpha Swanson was born in Gilbert, Iowa, August 12, 1893, and died at the home of her parents in Gilbert, Sept. 26, 1920.
January 26, 1912, she was united in marriage to Ward Dinsmore.
For almost two years she has been a constant sufferer. Her illness began with an attack of the flu, from which she never fully recovered, and later developed into tuberculosis. She made a heroic effort to regain health. She spent many months at Oakdale sanitarium and was for a time hopeful of full recovery. Later, however, she grew worse and was brought home, but grew weaker till the end came.
Through all the long weary months she never allowed herself to become discouraged, always maintaining a bright cheerful spirit. She was a beautiful Christian character. She united with the Congregational church of Gilbert May 3, 1908 and honored her profession by a most beautiful life of faith and trust. She leaves besides her husband, one son, her parents, two brothers, Orville of Story City and Hobart of San Francisco, Cal., and one sister, Mrs. Chas. Pifer of Randall.
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church, Rev. H. L. Wissler in charge, and the body laid to rest in the Gilbert cemetery.
Out of town relatives and friends, who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Belles of Parkersburg, Mr. and Mrs. James Russell of Redfield, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Welch of Earlham, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lundy of Ames, Mr. Clarence Davis of Fonda, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dinsmore of Nora Springs, Mrs. C. M. Abrahamson, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Abrahamson, and Mrs. and Mrs. Oren Dickinson of Story City.
