OBITUARY
Paul Erickson

Paul Erickson was born in Tastad near Stavanger, Norway, July 9, 1889, and died February 27, 1925. He lived until 1909 when he left for America coming to McCallsburg, Iowa, where he was engaged in farming, which occupation he followed until 1912 at which time he returned to Norway to assist his mother in managing her farm. He returned to this country in 1914 just in time to take part in the World War in which he served his country faithfully and well. He made another trip to Norway in 1918 to visit his mother and sister, and came back to America in 1919 and took up his residence in Chicago and engaged in the painting business, at which he was very successful.

On November 8, 1924, he was united in marriage to Bertha Peterson of Farson, Norway, with whom he lived very happily during the brief span of his married life.

Paul was a Lutheran and was brought up in a Christian home and led an upright and Christian life, loved and admired by all his friends.

He leaves behind to mourn his loss his loss his beloved wife, his mother and sister Emma in Norway and sister Christena of Des Moines; also two uncles, Martin Erickson of Story City and Paul Erickson of Rodman, and many cousins and a host of friends.

The only comfort that comes in the loss felt by all, as well as those nearest him, is he who was so worthy and deserving had received his crown of life.

The funeral was held Tuesday, March 3rd, from the Chapel at 3315 Fullerton Avenue, Rev. Moe officiated. His body was interred in Mount Olive cemetery, Chicago. His father and one sister are buried in Norway.
