Obituary of Mrs. Ben Holm

Mrs. Olena Holm was born in Story City Nov. 14, 1865. Her parents were Jacob and Margrethe Jorgenson. On Nov. 2, 1893 she was united in marriage to B. T. Holm. To this union was born six children: Joseph, Randolph and Martin Clarence who have preceded her in death and Sherman, Olive and Margaret, who are left with the husband to mourn her moss. She also leaves three brothers and four sisters, namely: M. J. and H. J. Jorgenson and Mrs. Wier Erickson of Story City, Mrs. K. S. Olson of Kenyon, Minn., and Anna, Ellen and Albert Jorgenson of Des Moines.

Mrs. Holm has been in poor health for a number of years but altho she had been sick for some time her death was unexpected. Friday, Aug. 1, she suffered a stroke of hemorrhage of the brain from which she did not recover. She passed away quietly Sunday noon, August 3.

In spite of her suffering she was always a firm believer. Altho she was not able to be about much her loss is keenly felt in the home.

Funeral services were held in the St. Petri church at 2 o'clock August 5th, Rev. J. N. Andersen officiating in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The pallbearers were R. R. Brattebo, L. C. Kahrs, C. Risdal, Ole Thorsbakken, T. T. Olson and A. M. Henderson. The remains were laid to rest in Fairview cemetery.
