OBITUARY

Christopher Sydness

Christopher Sydness was born in Sydness Fjeldberg Prestegjeld, Norway, Oct. 16, 1876, and died at Anchor hospital, St. Paul, July 30th, 1928, of injuries received while at work.

He came to Huxley, Iowa, from Norway about 35 years ago. He worked on a farm for several years. He attended Luther college, Decorah, also Des Moines university, from where he graduated as a druggist.

He was in the drug store business for many years but quit on account of health and the last few years has been doing outside work.

His parents, a sister and two brothers have preceded him in death, he being the last of his family. He leaves to mourn his sudden death one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews in Norway and several cousins in this country, Mrs. Hemingson of Huxley and Knute Sydness of this place, besides a host of friends.

The funeral services were held Aug. 2, 1928, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Ose and Immanuel Lutheran church. Services were conducted by Rev. Pierson of Ames. The remains were laid to rest in Fairview cemetery beside his brother Lars, who died twelve years ago.
