MRS. BRUNER BURIED.

Had Been Resident of Colo for Many Years.

Colo, Feb. 1.--The funeral services of Mrs. Sarah Bruner, 73, pioneer Colo woman, who died at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown Monday, January 28, from injuries received when struck by a train at Colo ten days previous, were held Wednesday at the Evangelical church in Colo and interment was in the Colo cemetery.

The services which were largely attended, were conducted by Rev. M. C. Miller of the Evangelical church assisted by Rev. Ivan R. Mills of the Methodist church.

The pallbearers were T. M. Smith, D. E. Lhommedieu, William Hemping, J. W. Thompson, O. O. Talbott, and Charles C. King. Her children were all present at the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Sam Etnire of Sheffield, who was unable to be present.

Sarah Jayne Hauser, daughter of Joseph and Martha Hauser was born in Pennsylvania December 25, 1850, and died in Marshalltown, Ia., Jan. 28, 1924, aged 73 years, 27 days.

In 1857 she moved with her parents to Stephenson Co., ill. She was married to Wm. Bruner Feb. 8, 1876. In 1877, she moved with her husband to Montgomery county, Ia., which has to Colo, Story Co., Ia., which has since been her home.

Mrs. Bruner united with the Lutheran church in early childhood. She was the mother of seven children one daughter, Vinnie, having preceded her in death dying in 1987 [sic] at the age of 19 years.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Wm. Bruner, and six children they being Ray W. Bruner of Masonville, Ia., Jessie Etnire, Sheffield, Ia., Josephine Geer, Murray, Ia., Bessie Thompson, Colo; Fred O. Bruner, of St. Paul, Minn., and Beatrice Myers of Colo. There is also one sister, Mrs. Lila Stahl of Washington, also 28 grandchildren, five brothers and three sister having preceded her in death.

She was an affectionate mother, a kind neighbor and one who never spared herself in ministering to the comfort of others.
