OBITUARY OF PETE HEGGEM

Peter Heggem, a son of Peter Christian and Anna Serine Heggem, was born at Slater, Iowa, July 1, 1869. He enjoyed the privilege of growing up in a good Christian home under the Christian influence.

In February, 1868, he was united in marriage to Belle Anfinson. They were blessed with four children--Mildred, Chester, Celia and Mathilda. The last names died in infancy. With the exception of two and one-half years, which they spent in Minneapolis, they made their home in Slater till 1907, when they moved to Colorado and made their home at Longmont, with the exception of four years, which they spent at Grand Junction.

During his long residence in Longmont, Mr. Heggem came to have a honored place in the community and exerted considerable influence in civic matters being a member of the city council for four years.

As a member of the Bethlehem church at that place he was always active and wiling. He held many positions of trust in the congregation and was a member of the board of deacons at the time of his death.

Mr. Heggem had been in rather poor health for a number of years, but it was only a little over two weeks ago that his condition became serious, and his death came of Thursday morning, November 15th. Thus he departed this life at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 14 days.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. The children are Milfred and Chester and Mrs. Ray Anderson.
