Ella Frances Sargent, daughter of John and Caroline Williams, was born in Polk City, Iowa, February 28, 1861. When but a child she moved with her parents onto a farm near Polk City Junction, where where she grew to womanhood and lived until her marriage to A. F. Sargent on February 14, 1882. Until the sprint of 1919 the Sargents made their home on a farm four miles south of Sheldahl, when they moved to Slater, where they previously had bought a beautiful home. There they continued to live, enjoying the fruits of their labors, till death suddenly claimed her on Wednesday evening, January 2nd, 1929. Had she lived till February 28th, this year, she would have been 68 years old. She left to mourn her departure a beloved husband, A. F. Williams of Sac City and host of other relatives and friends.
In early married life she, with her husband, united with the Congregational church at Polk City, of which she continued a faithful member till death claimed her last week. From this place of worship the last sad rites took place on Saturday afternoon.
