A prayer service was held at the home prior to services at the church at which time Pastor Stoutland sang a solo.

Burial was made in the Palestine cemetery.

Casket bearers were nephews of the deceased: Homer Lee of Slater, Marvin Johnson, Loren Johnson and Ellsworth Johnson, all of Des Moines, and Hubert Johnson and Lawrence Nelson of Huxley.

Miss Elizabeth Maland, Mrs. S. B. Sheldahl and Mrs. Olaf Hansen were in charge of the flowers.
