From The Nevada Representative November 27, 1895 (page 2)

Torger Olson, an aged citizen and pioneer, died at the home of his son George, north-west of town, Monday, November 18th. His health had not been robust for some years and death did not come unexpected. Mr. Olson's residence in Iowa began in 1894, his life previous to that being spent in Norway, the place of his birth. He was now in his 93d year. He was married twice and was the father of four children, three boys and one girl. He was a widower, his last wife preceding him to the other life four years ago. The funeral took place Thursday, the 21, from the Palestine church, the services being conducted by Rev. N. B. Tvedt. The remains were laid to rest in the Palestine cemetery. Mr. Olson was one of our worthy pioneers and his name will doubtless suggest kindly memories to all who knew him, especially those who braved the hardships of early Iowa in company with him.
